The series is featuring 15 single people of different ages and social background, who are waiting someone to come to their lives. The people are documented in environments they consider their homes, whether it be a flat shared with friends, a nice country house or a editing room of a film school, where a person sleeps while in Tallinn. People are asked to be photographed with everyone they are living with. They were also asked to describe the person the want to enter their lives. Since the series was originally created for Tam gallery in Tallinn, which shares it`s space with a posh restaurant, the texts were designed as restaurant menus. If exhibited elsewhere, the texts would probably be on display in a more simple way. Most of the texts were written in Estonian and then translated to English, with 2 exceptions of Americans living in Estonia.
The photos are 156 mm x 216 mm each and are printed on paper, that is behind thick acrylic glass, creating a certain, almost 3 D-like effect. There is 2 photos of each person, taken in their living environment, from the front and from the back. Those 2 photos are exhibited together, back to back. Originally they were put to restaurant tables.
Among the people photographed there are a gay Christian priest in his 50s, 2well known Estonian poets, American retired Punk music manager…
